Patelco Credit Union — Data Breach
On or around June 29, 2024, Patelco Credit Union experienced a significant data breach, compromising the personal information of over 1 million individuals, including both current and former members. Patelco members were unable to access their accounts for weeks, with partial access only restored by July 15, 2024.
One month later, hackers from the ransomware group RansomHub claimed responsibility, stating that after two weeks of failed negotiations, they published sensitive data, including Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, birth dates, and email addresses. Patelco confirmed the breach on August 14, 2024, and notified affected individuals on or after August 20, 2024.
This incident has raised serious concerns about Patelco’s data security and its responsibility toward safeguarding member information. We are actively investigating claims on behalf of Patelco members whose data was compromised.
If you received a breach notification, your information may have been exposed, and you could be eligible for compensation by filing a claim in arbitration. Fill out our Case Form today to find out if you qualify.
